No Boundary Wire

RTK Precise Global Positioning

RTK is short for real time kinematics. A GPS receiver capable of RTK takes in the normal signals from the Global Navigation Satellite Systems along with a correction stream to achieve a 1 centimeter positional accuracy. When the satellite connection is blocked while going under trees or buildings, Kress' proprietary algorithm uses the mower's inertial and odometry data to maintain accurate navigation.

Automatic Navigation Planning & Object Avoidance

Instead of bouncing off the boundaries like a ball on a pool table, Kress autonomous mowers automatically plot a systematical pattern to insure efficient complete cutting of the whole yard. When encountering an obstacle most robotic mowers would make a 90 degree turn taking off in a new direction, but Kress traverses around the object and then resumes the pattern. Regenerative Breaking

When mowing downhill Kress robotic mowers use regenerative breaking to convert the excess kinetic energy into electricity which is stored in the battery to increase runtime and offset the extra energy used going up hill. Kress robotic mowers are designed to navigate across up to 40% grade slopes.

Kress Intelligence

Information about the yard, weather, zone sizes, battery life and other data are used to automatically optimize the mowing cycles.
